While Travancus resided at Tarbulos
Now while the holy Travancus resided at Tarbulos, he was greatly troubled; for it was a troubling time for her Cause, and many had deserted him, and he feared that it would be utterly destroyed. But Maratrea comforted him. And then to assuage the fears of the assembly, he related to them what she had revealed to him:

Behold, the word of Maratrea
the one single soul at the beginning and end of time
as she remains in the fullness of her glory
throughout the existence of the many universes she has begotten
My children, thus do I reveal unto you:
Fear not if my Cause I have established in you be in troubled times
For without doubt it will proceed unto glory
And if in any branch herefrom descending it be vanquished
It will be re-established in due course
And having been re-established, will without doubt proceed unto glory
Though even re-establishment be followed by vanquishment in turn
Though there may be a third or fourth or even fifth establishment
Every branch ends in glory for my Cause
    After establishments limited in number
And the holy Travancus asked her concerning the manner of its re-establishment, were it to be in some branch herefrom descending vanquished. And she answered:
Whether in some branch from you herenow descending my Cause be vanquished
That I know, but I will not for now reveal to you
It would benefit you not now to know that
And I reveal not anything to anyone save that they be benefited
But I tell you without doubt, if this here establishment of my Cause fall
Without doubt I will send another after you to re-establish it
This one may be greater than you or may be lesser
And in different branches even different ones
But they will re-establish the Cause as you have established it
And without doubt, I will reveal to that one many things concerning you
        And concerning your beloved Claretta
That they will know that without doubt these matters have truly and actually occurred
in some of the universes which I have begotten
But whether they be then-there in any of those universes
I will not at first reveal unto them
And will not for some time
        For this is my will
For the particularity of my Cause
            in their branches established
        And the Blessing thereof
And I may even reveal matters concerning you
To those who are not beneath you but beside you
And I may reveal not at first to them
Whether you be beside or above them
But I tell you solemenly, whatever anyone truly desires to be true
Will be true, if not in those branches
            Then in some other
Thus will I say unto them:
How earnestly do you desire that these matters be truth?
And some among them will ask
How long ago did these matters come to pass
Some among them will speculate concerning this
And may everyone who feels the urge
            Be free to do so
And some among them may dream dreams
            Which tell them thereof
And may anyone who dreams such a dream
            Be free to believe it
And may anyone who hears of such a dream from another
            Be free to believe it
Or be free not to believe
            As they so choose
For to some in dreams I will reveal the truth
But may the Prophet-in-Council I establish in that day be cautiuous
In endorsing any dream, or any speculation
        Many years will pass
Before I reveal to the Prophet-in-Council
                the answer to that question
Until then, they may dream and speculate
But the Prophet-in-Council must refrain from decreeing
I will not reveal the matter of time to them
Before I reveal to them the matter of place
Thus I declare to you my will for my Cause
As I will also declare it unto them
And some among them will ask
Where did these matters come to pass
And likewise will there be dreams and speculation
And likewise may all be free to believe or not to believe
        As each themselves feels fit
And may the Prophet-in-Council refrain from endorsing
Any such dream or any such speculation
In whichever land these events did come to pass
I will reveal not to my Prophet-in-Council
Until over that land it has assumed
The place now taken by the usurpers
I will reveal many things concerning the days of Travancus and Claretta
unto the Prophet I will appoint unto them in their day, in their branches
which with the aid of the holy Council will be collated and confirmed
and whatever is so collated and confirmed will be established as scripture
Behold, the scripture they thereby establish
Will be close to the scripture established in these your days
And I will guide it to become closer
As the Prophet-in-Council in their days does revise it
Now in your days you have received at first revelation in the common tongue
Yet you have also received revelation of a tongue and script which are holy
And in their days the tongues of your days may even be long forgotten
The common along with the sacred
But they will receive my revelation in a tongue which in their days is common
But also will they receive intimations of the holy tongue
        And the sacred script
In which the scriptures of these your days are recorded
And after many days of speculation and after many days of dreams
In due course I will instruct my Prophet-in-Council to confirm it unto them
As I will reveal these things to them in the tongue of their day
May they endeavour to translate it into the tongue and script of your day
Once it is revealed to them
And after many days of speculation and after many days of dreams
In due course I will instruct my Prophet-in-Council to confirm to them
The correctness of the translation which they will attempt
Now the Goddess Maratrea commanded Travancus as follows:
All these things I have been revealing unto you
and of all of your doings
Ensure that a record of them is kept
And that it receives the approval of my Prophet-in-Council
See to it that this record is engraved on plates of gold
And kept at the seat of the Prophet-in-Council
And whenever my Prophet-in-Council may by decree add to the scriptures
Or take away from them, or alter them
    In accordance with my will
See to it that their alterations be recorded in the golden plates also
And anyone who wishes to know what the Prophet-in-Council has approved as scripture
May see the plates and know without doubt what has so been approved
And I command you that the plates be of gold
As an outward sign of the preciousness of the words engraved thereupon
Now whenever times of trouble come upon you
Remove the plates from the seat of my Prophet-in-Council
And secret them in some hidden place, that they be safe from the enmity
And I also instruct that you may copies thereof
And hide them in diverse places, that even if one hidden place by the enmity be uncovered
    The others will remain undiscovered
For the enmity hates the word of truth
And is desirous of gold, and will even destroy words more precious than gold
For the sake of the mere gold on which they are written
So depraved are the hearts of those over whom the enmity rules
The hearts of the usurpers and their servants
The hearts of the false prophets and the wicked priests
The hearts of those who love bloody sacrifices and blasphemous frauds
But when the day does come when you have assumed the place in the land I am appointing for you
In which the assumption of my Cause will begin, in these here branches, in this here establishment thereof
Secrete them only in those lands in which you have assumed the place, and not in any others
And wherever my Cause survives its troubles, that hidden place be returned to
And whenever my Cause is vanquished, I will guide its re-establishment to the rediscovery of that which was once hidden
And if in any branch descending from you my Cause be vanquished, then it is re-established
I will command them to do in their days as I have commanded you in yours
And I tell them solemnly, that in your day, though it be ancient to them
These true scriptures were recorded on golden plates
And even now remain hidden beneath the earth
But I will instruct them that until tehy make plates in the likeness thereof
I will not confirm to them where those plates be hidden
Now several will come forth in their day and say, I have found the secret plates!
But those plates they will study, and prove to be fraudulent
But then one will come forth and say, I have found the secret plates!
And the text thereof will agree with that the Prophet-in-Council in their day will have published
And not even their enemies will have proof that these plates be forgeries
Then, after many years of consideration, my Prophet-in-Council in their day may confirm them by decree
But they will be hidden in the same land in which these events have come to pass
Even as your land remains unknown to them
The Prophet-in-Council in their day may not confirm the plates as found
Until it has confirmed as true the land in which they are discovered
And the one who finds the unforged plates, may that one be greatly rewarded
And concerning these matters, it is my will that there be much dissension within my Cause
For the sake of the particularity of the Blessing thereof
But may the Prophet-in-Council remain apart from such dissension
For such is my will for my Cause
And if in any matter my Prophet-in-Council should prove overly hasty
May it repent of such error - for every error there is repentance
And I have promised not even my Prophet-in-Council perfect freedom from error
But only that its errors will not overwhelm it
For in every branch my Cause is established
It proceeds in branches therefrom descending directly unto glory
Even if in other branches thereform descending
    It proceeds unto vanquishment
But even vanquishment proceeds unto glory through re-establishment
Thus speaks Maratrea.

And the holy Travancus spoke as follows: Behold, the word of Maratrea, the one single soul at the beginning and end of time, as she remains in the fullness of her glory, throughout the existence of the many universes she has begotten: My children, thus do I reveal to you.

His spirit wrestled with her regarding the misfortunes that had befallen her Cause in those days; but she said unto him: This my will, for the particularity of my Cause in your branches established, and the Blessing thereof.

And he shared with her the doubts of his people - she listened earnestly to his complaint, even as she knew already every word which he spoke, for she perfectly remembered herself once so complaining. And she said unto him: Whatever anyone truly desires to be true, will be true, if not in those branches, then in some other. Then if you ever doubt some matter, ask yourself: How earnestly do you desire that these matters be truth? For it will be true in proportion to the earnestness of your desire for its truth.

And she said: Concerning those matters which my revelation has left open - it is my will not yet to reveal them to you, for the sake of the particularity of the blessing of my Cause. But each is free to believe as they wish with regard to such matter, until I reveal them to my Prophet-in-Council. And I will reveal certain matters thereof first to those who I chose, before I have appointed my Prophet-in-Council to approve such a revelation; those who receive such revelation are free to believe as they believe, and others are free to believe them; but anyone who believes them not cannot be called unfaithful, for I have not revealed as such to my Prophet-in-Cause. And there will be others who believe in error that they have a revelation from me regarding those matters; but if they do not contradict what I have revealed to my Prophet-in-Council, you must grant them the freedom to so believe, and the freedom for others to so believe them, so long as they do not claim that those who believe them not are unfaithful to my Cause.

And she said: There are certain matters for which it is my will that there be much dissension within my Cause, for the sake of the particularity of the Blessing thereof. But may the Prophet-in-Council remain apart from such dissension, for such is my will for my Cause. And if in any matter my Prophet-in-Council should prove overly hasty, may it repent of such error - for every error there is repentance. And I have promised not even my Prophet-in-Council perfect freedom from error, but only that its errors will not overwhelm it. For in every branch my Cause is established, it proceeds in branches therefrom descending directly unto glory. Even if in other branches thereform descending, it proceeds unto vanquishment; but even vanquishement proceeds unto glory through re-establishment.

And she said: Behold that my Cause will divide itself into thirty-seven subdivisions, each opposed to the others; for such is my will for the particularity of the Blessing of my Cause in these here branches herefrom descending; but in the last days the thirty-seven will be reconciled and become one again.

And the holy Travancus declared: Thus speaks Maratrea!

And the holy prophets say:
As to those worthy of truth
Bestow upon them the truth of which they are worthy
But as to those unworthy of truth
Bestow not the truth upon them
